About the dirt on our clothes

There are many kinds of dirt exsit in our clothes, including sweat, sebum, they are not easy to clean after soured. There are three kinds of dirt, such as water-soluble, oil-soluble, and insoluble dirts.

Water-soluble dirts

sweat, urine, blood, sauce, juice

Oil-soluble dirts

sebum, lipstick, all kinds of oil

Insoluble dirts

sand, mud, charcoal, clay, dust

Water-soluble dirts can be cleaned by water, oil-soluble dirts can be melt by oil. It is necessary to use detergent to wash clothes, because all kinds of dirts including oil-soluble, water-soluble, insoluble dirts, stick to the clothes.

About Detergent

Alkaline detergents are widely used by people nowadays.
Alkaline detergents sure can wash the dirts on the clothes off by strong power, but they also bring harm to human’s skin. Further more, they will weather the dye on your clothes, form uncanny fading.
Therefore, neutral detergents or low alkaline detergents are better to be used. Neutral detergents are really good to be used to wash textile such as silk or wool.
